OUR MISSION
Eternal Seeds is a community-based nonprofit that serves Black artists in New Orleans. We center all of our work around education, empowerment, and the preservation of New Orleans Black history and culture, with a focus on young and emerging artists. Harnessing the power of creative expression and community, we provide young and emerging artists with tools they need to become the revolutionary leaders and shapers of a more just, equitable, and artful world.
Our Work
-
A coloring book and activity guide produced to engage young artists (of all ages!) in historically relevant and thought provoking imagery.
-
The youth-led creative network of Eternal Seeds. In addition to highlighting their own talents in various mediums, BELite’s work is rooted in providing opportunities for young Black creatives in New Orleans to gain experience on producing and managing artistic projects.
-
A place keeping public art initiative, serving to highlight New Orleans Black Artists and celebrate Black stories.
-
A five-week Summer Arts intensive that exposes New Orleans teens (ages 14-17) to the power of art through mural arts and digital media production. The Summer Session works to prioritize community revitalization by empowering the students to speak on important issues facing them through their art.
-
An exhibition series in which student artists are given the opportunity to collaborate, showcase, and sell their works in a gallery setting at #StudioBE
-
A fellowship created to shine a light on the artists in our community who are teaching the next generation of artists.
